Yes. Micro-suction is the preferred method used in NHS audiology services. It's gentler than traditional syringing because there's no water pressure, and our trained pharmacist can see exactly what they're removing.
Most patients find it painless. You'll hear a gentle humming sound and feel slight pressure, but no discomfort. If you have a sensitive ear canal or active inflammation, we'll discuss alternatives.
Micro-suction is not suitable if your eardrum is perforated. Our pharmacist will check for this during the assessment and refer you to your GP or an ENT specialist if needed.
The procedure is £55 for both ears, paid in full at the time of the appointment. We accept cash and card.
