Wax removal is £65 whether it's one ear or both. If there's no wax to remove, you'll only pay the £30 consultation fee — with a thorough ear examination either way.

Is micro-suction painful?
No — most people just feel a slight suction sensation and hear the wand. It's far more comfortable than traditional water syringing.
How should I prepare?
Soften the wax with olive-oil drops (2–3 drops, twice daily) for 3–5 days before your appointment. If you haven't, don't worry — we can still help, it just takes longer.
Is it safe with a perforated eardrum?
Yes — micro-suction is the recommended method when water irrigation isn't safe. We thoroughly examine the ear first.
Can hearing-aid users have this?
Absolutely — it's particularly good for hearing-aid users because there's no water residue to worry about.
How often will I need it?
It varies. Some people are once and done; others need a top-up every 6–12 months. We'll advise based on what we find.
Can my GP remove ear wax?
Not all GP surgeries remove ear wax any more. If yours doesn't, you may be referred to another local NHS service or need to pay privately. We offer microsuction as a private service.
When should I see a GP instead?
If you have ear pain, discharge, sudden hearing loss, dizziness or a high temperature, see your GP or call 111 rather than booking ear wax removal.
Can I use cotton buds to clear my ears?
It's best not to. Cotton buds and fingers push wax further in and can make a blockage worse.
