Brighton Hill Pharmacy, 3 Brighton Hill Parade, gives free NHS flu jabs to eligible adults and to children from age 2, and private flu jabs for £25 to anyone aged 18 or over who doesn't qualify. Can I get a free NHS flu jab in 2026/27?
From the NHS website. You don't need to be registered with a GP, and we check your eligibility at the start of the appointment.

Private flu jab

Adults who don't qualify for the NHS jab can have a private one with us for £25. It's for anyone aged 18 or over and takes a few minutes. People often choose it because of work, travel, or living with someone vulnerable.
Supply is subject to a pharmacist's assessment on the day.
Flu and COVID
Flu and COVID jabs in one visit.
If you're eligible for both, we can give your flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same appointment. This autumn the NHS COVID-19 vaccine is for people aged 75 or over, residents of care homes for older adults and people with a weakened immune system.

When to come in.
Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. We're closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
Bring your NHS number if you know it and a list of any medicines you take, and wear a top with sleeves that roll up easily.

Timing
When should I have my flu jab?
The NHS programme in Hampshire began on 1 October, and the jab takes about two weeks to work, so it's best to have it before flu peaks over the winter. It's still worth having later: the NHS offers it until 31 March 2027.
Safety
Is it safe?
Common side effects are a sore arm, a slightly raised temperature or aching for a day or two. The injected vaccines can't give you flu because they contain no live virus. Tell us if you have an egg allergy, have had a severe reaction to a vaccine before, or have a high temperature on the day, and we'll advise you.

Who can get a free flu jab in 2026?
The NHS offers it to people aged 65 or over (including those turning 65 by 31 March 2027), adults with certain long-term conditions, pregnant women, carers, care home residents, people living with someone immunosuppressed, children from age 2 and some frontline workers. We'll check for you.
How much is a private flu jab at Brighton Hill?
£25. It's for adults aged 18 or over who don't qualify for a free NHS jab, and it only takes a few minutes. Book online, call us or pop in.
Can I walk in for a flu jab or do I need to book?
Either. Book a time online or by phone, or pop in during opening hours and we'll see you as soon as a pharmacist is free.
Do I need to be registered with a GP to get a free flu jab at a pharmacy?
No. You don't need to be registered with a GP to have your NHS flu jab at a pharmacy. Bring your NHS number if you know it.
Can I have the flu and COVID jabs at the same time?
Yes. If you're eligible for both, we can give them in the same appointment, which saves you a second trip.
I'm pregnant: can I have the flu jab at the pharmacy?
Yes. It's free on the NHS at any stage of pregnancy and helps protect your baby in the first months after birth too.
Can my child have a flu vaccine at Brighton Hill?
Yes. We give NHS children's flu vaccines from age 2, usually as a nasal spray. Most school-age children are offered theirs at school.
