Winter Flu Campaign: who's eligible this year

Updated NHS eligibility for the autumn 2025/26 flu season — and how to book your jab.

The 2025/26 NHS flu vaccination programme is open and Brighton Hill is offering free jabs to all eligible patients. Here's who qualifies this year.

NHS-eligible groups

You can get a free NHS flu vaccine if you're:

  • 65 or over (rolling — you're eligible from your 65th birthday)
  • Pregnant (any trimester, in any flu season)
  • Aged 6 months–64 with a long-term condition — asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease, kidney/liver disease, neurological conditions, weakened immune system
  • A carer (paid or unpaid) for an elderly or disabled person
  • A frontline health or social-care worker
  • Living with someone who's immunosuppressed
  • Children aged 2–3 (nasal spray at the GP) and school-age children (via school programme)

Private flu jabs

If you don't fit any of the NHS groups, a private flu jab at Brighton Hill is £25 — same vaccine, same protection, no qualifying questions.

When to book

The vaccine takes two weeks to reach full protection. Aim to get yours by late October so you're covered through the December–February peak.

Tip: if you're eligible for both flu and COVID-19 jabs, we'll do them in the same appointment — one in each arm. Job done.
